Find users for your developer tool
A buying-intent radar for dev-tool founders: Hacker News, GitHub, Stack Exchange and Bluesky in one search, with packs per competitor, reply-state and an MCP server for your agent. Free; hosted from $19/mo.
Try it now (free, no signup)
Dev-tool buyers rarely fill in contact forms. They ask peers: in HN threads, GitHub issues, Stack Exchange questions and Bluesky posts. AskHound puts those four in one search, built for the way you already work: in the terminal, or through your coding agent.
A daily routine that takes 5 minutes
askhound pack save main --product YourTool --competitor A --competitor B --category "your category" --context api, cliaskhound pack run main --days 2 --md today.md: new conversations only, ranked by an intent hint.- Your agent drafts disclosed replies, you approve, and
askhound mark <url> repliedkeeps every agent from replying twice.
What to expect (honestly)
For a single competitor phrase, expect a handful of matches a month across the four sources. In our 2026-10-18 check, 30-day counts ranged from 2 (github copilot alternative) to 12 (postman alternative). The value comes from covering many phrases every day, never missing the few people who ask, and answering them well.

askhound pack run --md today.mdHonest-reply policy (built into every tool response): a human approves every public reply; never auto-post or mass-DM; disclose that you build the product; answer the question first and name alternatives; follow each community's rules. Hacker News, for example, does not allow AI-generated or AI-edited comments, so replies there must be written by you. AskHound finds the conversation. You decide whether you have something useful to say.

Hosted searches cover Stack Exchange and Bluesky (the sources whose terms allow server-side use). Hacker News and GitHub run in the free CLI on your machine. No Reddit, no X.
