Guide / 2026-10-18
How do I get alerts for new Stack Overflow questions about my tool?
Subscribe to the tag's Atom feed (for example stackoverflow.com/feeds/tag/supabase) in any feed reader, or query the Stack Exchange API on a schedule for your keyword. For keyword searches with intent ranking, save an AskHound watch: it covers Stack Exchange and Bluesky and sends new matches to Slack, Discord or a webhook (email digest in beta).
Try it now (free, no signup)
Option 1: tag feeds (free, tags only)
Every Stack Overflow tag has an Atom feed of active questions: https://stackoverflow.com/feeds/tag/<tag>. We checked supabase on 2026-10-18: it returns "Active questions tagged supabase", the most recent 30. Add it to a feed reader or a feed-to-email service.
Limits: tags only (no free-text keywords), and "active" includes old questions with new activity.
Option 2: the Stack Exchange API (free, keywords)
GET https://api.stackexchange.com/2.3/search/advanced?order=desc&sort=creation&q=<keyword>&site=stackoverflow
Run it from cron and email yourself the new question IDs. Anonymous calls share a per-IP daily quota: an anonymous call on 2026-10-18 returned quota_max: 300. Register an app key for a higher quota (see the Stack Exchange API docs).
Option 3: AskHound watch (keywords + intent, Stack Exchange and Bluesky)
- Search your keyword on askhound.haullabs.dev (free: 3 searches a day).
- Save it as a watch. Solo ($19/mo) has 3 watches and a daily email digest that is beta and not sending yet. Pro ($49/mo) has 15 watches, Slack, Discord or webhook delivery, and hourly checks (beta).
- Agents can manage watches over REST (
/api/watches).
AskHound searches Software Recommendations, Web Applications and Stack Overflow, shows CC BY-SA attribution with a link to the original, and never posts for you.
Before you reply
Stack Overflow doesn't allow content generated by generative-AI tools. Answer the question yourself, and disclose your affiliation whenever you mention your own product: Stack Overflow's "How to not be a spammer" page requires it.

Search free first. A watch re-runs the search on our server and sends only questions you haven't seen yet.
FAQ
Can I get email alerts for new Stack Overflow questions?
Yes. Put a tag's Atom feed into a feed-to-email service, or run a scheduled Stack Exchange API query that emails you. AskHound watches deliver to Slack, Discord or a webhook today; their daily email digest is beta and not sending yet.
Is there an RSS feed for a Stack Overflow tag?
Yes: stackoverflow.com/feeds/tag/ followed by the tag name returns an Atom feed of active questions in that tag.
Can I monitor a keyword rather than a tag?
Yes, with the Stack Exchange API's search/advanced endpoint (the q parameter) or a saved AskHound search.
Does it cover other Stack Exchange sites?
The API covers every site in the network through its site parameter. AskHound searches three: Software Recommendations, Web Applications and Stack Overflow.

Beta, plainly: email digests are in beta and not sending yet: our email sender isn't switched on. A new email watch is saved now and starts sending the day the sender goes live. Slack, Discord and webhooks on Pro deliver today. Hourly checks are in beta too: an external hourly scheduler was added on 2026-10-18, and the label stays until we've confirmed hourly runs in production.
