What happened, in GummySearch's own words (checked 2026-10-18):

    DateWhat it refers toGummySearch says
Nov 30, 2025New signups, purchases, renewals"After November 30th, no new signups or payments will be accepted." (Final Chapter) The homepage now reads "GummySearch is closed as of 11/30/2025."
Dec 1, 2025 to Nov 30, 2026Existing customers only"Existing paid subscribers retain full access until their billing period ends" and "Free users can only log in to view, download, or delete their data." (closure doc)
Dec 1, 2026Service shutdown and data deletion"Complete shutdown of all services and deletion of all user data." and "All user data will be permanently deleted on December 1, 2026. Download any data you need before this date." (closure doc; also "Dec 1, 2026: GummySearch shuts down entirely, all user data deleted." on the Final Chapter page)

Why: GummySearch says it could not reach a commercial license agreement for Reddit's Data API.

    Moving off GummySearch: 3 steps

    1. Export first. Log in and download your data before December 1, 2026. After that, GummySearch says it is deleted.
    2. Rebuild your keywords as an intent pack. Your tracked keywords and competitors become a pack: askhound pack save mine --product YourProduct --competitor CompetitorA --category "what you do". Run it daily with askhound pack run mine --md today.md (new results only).
    3. Hand it to your agent. Add the MCP server (below) and ask it to find people asking for an alternative this week and draft disclosed replies for your approval.

    Honest take

AskHound is not a Reddit tool, and it won't replace GummySearch if your buyers live on Reddit. Reddit requires a paid commercial API agreement (the reason GummySearch closed), and we won't scrape. It fits best if you sell developer tools or prosumer software, because those buyers also ask on Hacker News, GitHub, Stack Exchange and Bluesky.

Honest-reply policy (built into every tool response): a human approves every public reply; never auto-post or mass-DM; disclose that you build the product; answer the question first and name alternatives; follow each community's rules. Hacker News, for example, does not allow AI-generated or AI-edited comments, so replies there must be written by you. AskHound finds the conversation. You decide whether you have something useful to say.

    Pricing: select your player

Free is for looking around. Paid plans are for not missing anyone: watches re-run your searches on our server and send you only people you haven't seen yet. Hosted searches cover Stack Exchange and Bluesky (the sources whose terms allow server-side use). Hacker News and GitHub run in the free CLI on your machine. No Reddit, no X.
